What are some good tips for a tight budget at Disneyland?

Question by Bethany?! Oh yes. (:: What are some good tips for a tight budget at Disneyland?
I’m going to Disneyland with my friends at the end of the year and I was wondering what are some good tips for saving money there. Mostly for food and souvenirs.

Also, I know it’s a stupid question, but what are the cheapest types of candy there? Sorry, I haven’t been there in 12 years and I don’t go anywhere without buying candy. (I sound like a fatass, hah.)

Try buying less exspensive things, or going without buying somehting at all. For example, lets say they are selling hot dogs and you really want one, but they are like $ 5 but the nachos are only $ 3. get the nachos instead.

  1. For Drinks: go to some store like Giant, Weis, Sams Club, ect and buy those drink packs. (You know the kind with the powdered lemonade or tea or whatever your into) and take them along with you in the park. At most disney food stands you can just ask for a cup of water (not bottled) and they’ll give it to you for free. Then you can mix in the drink mix of your choice! You have your very own lemondae that costs something around 10 cents as opposed to paying their ridiculous overpriced-ness. That’s what we did while we were at Disney and over all, we saved a lot of money. Good Luck :)

  2. rocks arent people

find a place that sells really big platters, then share with your friends.I did this once at Islands of Adventure where we got chicken, ribs mashed potatos, broccoli, and a corn on the cob.

as far as souvenirs, think if youre actually going to use it ever.like i bought a photo album while I was there so I could keep all the photos i took during the day in it.usually photo related, dish related, and keychains are the best souvenirs to get since they are the least likely to sit on a table uselessly for the rest of time.

  3. You can really be thrifty and still have fun. Bring your own bottled water. You can refill it at the drinking fountains throughout the park. Popcorn is only 3.00, the mickey mouse shaped pretzels are only 3.50 and they are pretty big, it will fill you up like a meal. You can also bring a protein bar with you 1 pure protein has 20g and the peanut butter ones actually taste ok.

The candy store on Main Street sells inexpensive salt water taffy or you can get a big rice crispy bar for 2.50. The peanut brittle is cheap too. All the candy is made right there in the store.

As for souvenirs, if you are looking for an inexpensive gift for someone you can go to any of the larger stores and buy a reusable tote/grocery bag for 2.99. I always bring them back for my friends.
