Question by tha_claw: Should candidates be banned from raising money to repay personal loans they gave their own campaign?
Many polititians loan their campaign money and then after the campaign is over, they raise money so that they can pay themselves back. The people that donate are essentially putting money directly into the pockets of the candidate.

That is donations. Maybe people want to help pay the candidate back. No one is making them donate money.
No, they should be able to repay the loan. It is a loan, not a donation that a candidate gives to his/her campaign. There is no reason to punish that candidate for losing.
If a candidate can raise the money, let it happen. People should be able to donate to whatever cause they want.
Absolutely. It’s probably why Hillary is still in the race and since she and Bill have so much money, why should donors pay their debts?
