Question by Dreadnaught: Has anyone made money from selling custom built PCs? Do you have any tips? Is the profit margin low?
Im looking into building day to day computers and gaming computers and selling them cheaper than a store or any other comparable build from a store but high enough to where the people save money and i make money.
Have you or anyone you know made money from this? Im fresh outa highschool and im looking for extra cash.
Also any tips would be good. like places to buy parts for dirt cheap, or how to sell them, places to sell them etc.

Profit margin is VERY low. If you’re going to be building it yourself, you’re getting parts through someplace like newegg or tigerdirect. And your name doesn’t carry a lot of credibility, so people are going to want it as cheap as possible. And you can get very inexpensive, custom-built computers from sites like ibuypower.com and cyperpowerpc.com. So with all that being said, you’re competing with bigger, more prominent companies in a market where there already isn’t a lot of profit margin.
