Richardson, Texas (Vocus/PRWEB) January 31, 2011

AMX®, the leading provider of solutions that simplify the implementation, maintenance, and use of technology to create effective environments, today announced an HDMI enhancement to its AMX SchoolView solution. The new feature addresses the pressing issue educators are facing as older analog-connected computers and AV devices are being replaced with newer technology with digital connectivity.

AMX SchoolView takes advantage of existing school data networks to streamline bell schedules, bring networked precision to clocks, deliver audio paging and streaming video to an entire school, single room, or anywhere in between. The HDMI addition gives schools the ability to connect VGA- or HDMI-enabled devices. So with AMX SchoolView, administrators can continue utilizing current, analog AV devices while incorporating new, HDMI-enabled devices when required.

“In a landscape where education officials are being forced to deal with reconciling budgetary restraints with rapidly changing technologies, I’m thrilled that AMX SchoolView offers a future-proof solution,” said Michael Peveler, Vice President of Education Sales of AMX. “AMX SchoolView lets educators move forward without pause into next-generation technology and improved learning environments in a manner that will deliver a significant ROI.”

With AMX SchoolView administrators can maximize green savings and realize a substantial return on investment. AMX SchoolView can save the typical district $ 3000 per year in energy costs for every 200 PCs and $ 20,000 in projector lamp replacement costs for every 100 projectors. It automates management of energy-consuming resources like PCs and AV equipment, and further increases cost reductions by simplifying maintenance and support, which extends technology lifecycles.

In addition to its sustainability and teaching benefits AMX SchoolView gives administrators the ability to distribute messaging and alerts to selected zones of the school in the case of a campus emergency.

“Currently schools are looking at sustainability from two points of view; definitely the ‘green’ perspective but also in terms of how to sustain current technologies. They need to future-proof their technology investments,” explains AMX Director of Education Marketing Jackie DeLuna. “At a time when education funding is a crucial concern, campuses are seeking a cost-effective solution to address ed-tech initiatives while also providing longevity, and AMX SchoolView does this.”

AMX will be showcasing its SchoolView solution in booth # 1407 at the Florida Education Technology Conference, January 31-February 3, in Orlando, Fla., and in booth # 923 at the Texas Computer Education Association show February 7-11, in Austin, Texas.

Chas Roberts Alerts Arizona Homeowners: New Tax Incentives for Air Conditioning Units Available

Chas Roberts Alerts Arizona Homeowners: New Tax Incentives for Air Conditioning Units Available

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) April 23, 2009

Chas Roberts Heating and Air Conditioning is informing Arizona homeowners that the recently passed federal stimulus bill (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009) has made it more affordable for homeowners to replace their air conditioning units with more energy-efficient models – just as the Phoenix area reached over 100 degrees for the first time this year and Tucson won’t be far behind.

Homeowners who install qualified central air conditioning units January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010 may qualify for a tax credit for 30% of the installation costs*, up to $ 1500*. The stimulus bill also removed the $ 500 lifetime cap from similar tax credits that were available in 2006 and 2007. Homeowners that claimed tax credits in those years may still be eligible for the full $ 1500 tax credit for 2009-2010*. In addition, APS customers may also qualify for an additional rebate of up to $ 400 and Tucson Electric Power Company customers may qualify for rebates of up to $ 250 for installation of high-efficiency air conditioning systems.

“It’s never been more financially reasonable and timely to ‘go green’ with your air conditioner,” says Chas Roberts CEO Roberta Roberts Shank. “These new tax incentives, combined with the early onset of summer temperatures, make this the perfect time for homeowners to consider replacing their air conditioning units.”

Replacing a central air conditioning system is a sound financial decision. A more efficient air conditioning unit uses far less energy and can reduce your energy costs by up to 40%*. Combined with the new tax incentives and rebates being offered, it can quickly pay for itself. It’s also an investment in restoring the ozone layer, which protects us from solar UV radiation and it’s an investment in making the air we breathe cleaner and safer.

Now is the time to take a look at your air conditioner before it gets too hot, or worse – before your unit breaks. To have a higher efficiency air conditioning unit installed by a knowledgeable Chas Roberts technician, call (602) 328-5058 in the Phoenix area or (520) 292-6858 in Tucson, or visit ChasRoberts.com.

For more information on the federal tax credits and for a list of qualified products, visit http://www.hvactaxcredits.com/2009_energystar.asp. A list of requirements and rebate application information for the APS rebate program is available on http://www.aps.com/main/green/choice/choice_3.html and for the Tucson Electric Power Company Efficient Home Cooling Program at http://www.tep.com/Green/EHC/.

Chas Roberts creates comfortable living environments for Arizona homeowners by providing installation and service of heating & air conditioning units at competitive prices. Chas and Alice Roberts founded Chas Roberts Air Conditioning in 1942 and the business has been family owned and operated since day one. Vinho Verde – Now that summer is here, these Portuguese wines are an option fee

Vinho Verde – Now that summer is here, these Portuguese wines are an option fee

New York, NY (PRWEB) June 25, 2009

Summer arrived this week, and the wines of the Vinho Verde region of Portugal are the right mix for cooking in the open air travel, bathing and picnics.

recent comments, and media attention on wine vinho verde made them one of Winers unofficial summer. These light and sparkling wines offer a pure and fruity flavor that matches well with hot dishes. Combine that with their hard to pass up the price – many bottles can be found for under $ 10 – Vinho Verdes and make a wise choice to wear to a barbecue or just enjoy a warm night. And they are easier to find at U.S. retailers this summer too.

Made from grapes grown in the lush valley of northern Portugal between the Douro River Minho, Vinho Verde, or “green wine” are not named after the lush green landscape where they come but for their age. They are young and wines to be consumed a year after production.

This aging process creates short dry, light bodied wine with notes of green apple, peach, pear and citrus. A recent away from aging in wooden barrels to some wineries has more than the natural flavor of the grapes to emerge more prominently.

Vinho Verde are also characterized by their “brilliance” or carbonation light that comes from the release of carbon dioxide during fermentation. This excitement, and the content of low-alcohol wines, Vinho Verde has a drink popular in Portugal. But in recent years, the popularity of these wines has spread, along with their use.

The recommended temperature for serving a Vinho Verde is well chilled, about 45 to 55 degrees, making it ideal for service on a hot day at a barbecue or picnic. The pairings are the most common shellfish, soft cheeses, fruits, pasta and other dishes were, but these wines are also created to withstand the strong flavors used in Portuguese cuisine, such as garlic and cilantro. The wines can hold their own even with salted meat, like pork, duck and lamb.

Because the region of Vinho Verde is Portugal’s largest with a variety of soil types, it is difficult to combine all these wines together. Many are mixtures, pure varietal wines can be found. Some of the most popular varieties are the Alvarinho, which may have a slight peach, lemon and tropical fruit flavors, Loureiro more full-bodied with flavors of melon and flowers, green apple and citrus flavored Azal, and the less acidic Trajadura

addition to their taste refreshing Vinho Verde are affordable and a number of delicious bottles can be found in the United States from $ 6 to $ 10. Light and dry Casal Garcia and crisp citrus flavor and José Maria da Fonseca 2007 “Twin Vines” Vinho Verde can both be found for about $ 9.

Although Portuguese wines are not as widely known in America than in other European countries, they were emerging among retailers of wine across the country. Portugal has made fine wines from Porto for centuries, but a relatively recent government investment in the modernization of the wine industry and an influx of young talent has inspired many winemakers in the region to expand their activities beyond

Port.

Portuguese wines are versatile and with a variety of flavors, there is a wine to accompany almost every dish. The reds are well suited to lamb, steaks and pork, but are also delicious with poultry dishes. Refreshing and crisp, whites go well with grilled fish, salads and other foods summer, as well as fish steaky as swordfish and tuna.

Having consistently invested in the manufacturing industry of its wine for the past 20 years by adding modern amenities, the culture of care and improved techniques, Portugal is making the best wines in its long history .

Eight percent of the typical landscapes of Portugal is dedicated to the vine. The result is a wide variety of quality wines, each with their own personality.

Worcester, UK (PRWEB) October 22, 2009

Financing npower means a pool that is part of a multipurpose center on the estate in Pembrokeshire Stackpole was installed with sufficient renewable energy technology to make it the largest collection of solar panels through the National Trust.

funding npower (http://www.npower.com/) – as part of the National Trust Green (http://www.ntgreenenergy.org.uk/) Fund – allowed a total of 19 platforms to install solar panels on the roof of the pool Stackpole Centre by a local solar heating West Wales. Green Energy Project Fund invests in small renewable energy projects and the scale of carbon savings on other Trust sites in Wales and England.

Welsh produces solar panels now provide free heat to the pool that cost thousands of pounds a year to heat. The result is not only less operating costs of the Trust, but another important step towards the small lowering environmental impact and reduce emissions of climate changing carbon

The project, which cost £ 18 000, will allow the pool water to be heated by the sun’s power for the time and completed with a gas system that intends to switch to a heating system biomass in the near future. The system runs continuously with water pumped from the pool in a storage tank where it is heated by energy generated by solar panels.

Keith Jones, Consultant in Environmental Practices for the National Trust in Wales, said: “The National Trust is committed to reducing our energy footprint and developing projects that can enable people to learn more about adaptation and resource efficiency and save money. It is the largest solar panel system of its kind in the National Trust, and it is estimated it will produce 58,400 kw annually the equivalent of nearly 160 electric heaters left on for an hour every day of the year (saving more than a third of its energy before).

“In our case it was a very simple calculation -. an investment equivalent to 18 months worth of gas costs to heat the pool and it has paid for itself in six years in summer and warmer days of this system will provide most if not all the warmth of the pool. “

solar panels (http://www.npower.com/web/solarpv/index.htm) also have a digital display, which will allow members of the public and invited residents using the pool at Stackpole Centre to see exactly how much energy is produced by solar panels during their visit.
